Leila’s love for animals and nature came at a young age living by the ocean with 5 wonderful family dogs and an array of animals that came into her life while frolicking in the outdoors. Her deep respect for nature has influenced her philosophy that we are stewards of the environment and must live in harmony by minimizing our pawprint and preserving the delicate balance through active conservation.

Gord has been an animal lover and provider since the age of five when a cat wandered into his home and blessed his family with a litter of kittens, sparking a life of loving bonds with all living creatures.

After Leila and Gord became life partners, they adopted an orange tabby named Mr. Fluff and the three of them soon made room for a terrified rescue dog that they named Marcus.

This challenge initiated their journey, educating themselves though seminars and private training sessions in dog behaviour and fear based reactivity. After several years of practice with Marcus and additional adoptions, Leila and Gord made the leap to professional animal care.

In 2006 Bark Pet Care and Dog Walking was born!

From that day forward they have taken pride in providing the same loving and reliable care to all the animals that come their way.
